From 2019, the University of Rijeka teaches dentistry in English. This is a six-year Doctor of Dental Medicine qualification. A Doctor of dental medicine is qualified for activities including preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment of the anomalies affecting teeth, oral cavity and related tissues.
Students with good A' levels or equivalent qualifications in biology and chemistry can take the entrance exam for the dentistry degree. There is also a manual dexterity test that is a compulsory part of the selection process. This exam and test typically takes place 2 or 3 times a year depending on the number of available places.
